Not Just the Symptoms

When current day events trigger unprocessed or traumatic memories, our brain and body reacts – it wants to flee, freeze, fight, or submit. What would happen if you, or your child, had a new relationship to these events? Together, we will work to understand the impact of what happened, rather than what is wrong or broken. Then we will reprocess memories that currently manifest through mental health symptoms, chronic illness, and injury.  In this way, difficult emotions, thoughts, behaviours, and body sensations become reframed. Old wounds heal and relationships improve. Symptoms disappear and triggers lose their power. New, empowering coping strategies will replace the old, unhealthy or risky ones.

The result is a not only mental health … but mental strength.

I’m Jillian Hosey,  Trauma Specialist

My name is Jillian Hosey, your guide to a mentally healthier and mindfully happier life.

I’m a clinical social worker and trauma therapist with extensive experience providing assessment and treatment to clients of all ages who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma.

My background is in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

I look forward to supporting you or your loved one on a therapeutic journey.
